Values & Vision

Christine's approach is rooted in listening to the needs of her constituents and working with all stakeholders to problem solve the solutions. Her strategic policies aim to create a thriving environment for all. Here's how her vision unfolds:

Empowering Agawam

I believe in practical solutions that help residents directly, not endless meetings and red tape.

  • Create a “Problem Solvers Committee” where residents can bring concerns, and the town actively helps resolve them.

  • Enhance communication by mailing a printed newsletter and event calendar to every household, so important updates aren’t dependent on social media.

  • Redesign the town website to be user-friendly and easy to navigate, with clear links to forms, contacts, and town updates.

Expanding Programs

Our town has over 6,000 children, yet only one town-run day camp serving 120 kids. That’s not enough.

  • Expand day camp options so more children and families can access affordable summer programming.

  • Develop programs for all ages—from toddlers to seniors—covering arts, music, STEAM, and high-interest activities.

  • Advocate for a community center at Perry Lane once the high school construction is complete, giving residents a place to gather year-round.

  • Introduce morning water aerobics for all ages (especially seniors) at outdoor pools in the summer, and weekend aquatic programs at the junior high in winter.

Affordability

Agawam residents are feeling the squeeze from high costs.

  • Explore solutions to reduce energy delivery fees, working with utility companies and state regulators.

  • Provide clear, accessible information about programs and resources that can help residents save on costs or access assistance.

Working with Our Partners

Local government should be connected to the bigger picture.

  • Coordinate regular town halls with state and federal representatives so residents can ask questions and share feedback.

  • Stay informed on state and federal policy changes to anticipate their impact on Agawam.
